So I've been away from this blog. Yes, I've been busy and life has been hovering at that specific line that is below "omg really interesting" and above "ah, let's just sit home and watch crap on the Intarwebs" (and in case you're wondering, yes, I have occasionally sunk on the other side of that line. And if you're interested: it's called America's Next Top Model. It's hilarious. Even better is the commentary by Henry Evil - added below).
Anyway, I'm back. New template, new aim. One thing that I've been noticing is that my English has been getting slowly ... ahh, shall we say "more special". It's not just the little phrases that I have ('genau' and 'zum Beispiel' instead of 'exactly' and 'for example') but that I actually make Deutschisms when I start speaking English ... zum Beispiel, I started talking about watching a movie with English undertitles, and when asked I always say that I live near the bahnhof. See what I mean? Genau.
It's fine for people who are bilingual English-German, but I have the feeling that I'm going to have a lot of trouble when I go back and visit Sydney at the end of the year. So, I've got 3 months to shapen up. My science vocab is fine, but the rest needs a lot of fine tuning. Es sollte sehr komisch sein ...
