The first is gelaskins, which I blogged about a while ago for their FSM ipod skin. Going through their gallery, there are a couple more that I would love to have should I ever get around to selling my soul to Apple (nothing personal as far as the computers, I just reached saturation point a long while ago as far as their branding with the iPods. Though the new ones certainly look interesting). In true nerd style, my favourite apart from the FSM one is the darker side of Mario and Luigi:
Note that they also do covers for MacBooks. Also note that their online store is particularly farked and doesn't seem to want to accept my credit card or my paypal entry either, for which I will tell them to rearrange the following words: Stuffed. Go. Get. And. ............ Pity though.
At the other end of the spectrum (otherwise known as "my favourite price"), for the northern hemispheres back to school season there are a couple of DIY book covers that have been created by two cartoonists featuring Star Wars characters. And no, they're not the heroic versions. My favourite is the Darth Vader one:
My newest additions to my bloglines are (in addition to my beloved Geekologie); GeekAlerts which has a similarly nice collection, just without the smarm; Think.BigChief, an Italian design and gadgetry blog (geek has never been so chic!); and Gizmodo, which I'm not the first to think is great ... in fact, I'm rather late on that boat (check out the local mirrors - we likee the different versions).
One of the favourites from previous weeks was the Darth Vader into Death Star Transformer. I was hoping to get this for a friend's birthday as it's essentially the bastard offspring of two of his favourite things but it's only currently available in the US :P

One of my favourite inventions though that has popped up (for daily practical type usage) is the MyPerfectCoffee ... although I said I'd quit coffee, I lied. Terribly. And I'm back up to my 2+ cups a day. I blame most of this on the coffee beans into liquid gold that we have here at Das Institute ... but I figure if I'm going to resume my habits, I might as well make sure I have the perfect cuppa:

But my favourite work-related beverage post? Why, it would have to be this one right here . Disguising a beer fridge as a cardboard box. Genius. Just make sure you open the beer with an iDrink . More genius. And to think they say that drinking damages your brainy-neurones-type-things ...
